Up by 8am, ran a few errands - to the store for groceries and to the library for internet (trying to fix the out of order blog entries). Back to my room for a quick shower before checking out just before noon. Down to the Lumber Mill for a cheeseburger then headed out of town around 1:30. The road walk up to the South Ridge Trailhead was incredibly steep and the trail up to Tahquitz Peak was even steeper. Encountered lots of snow on the trail down to Saddle Junction. Continued around San Jacinto Peak where I caught a brief glimpse of a bobcat near Strawberry Cienega. Camped alone at Deer Springs in the Mt San Jacinto State Wilderness Park at MP 186. Made a total of 14 miles today, but due to the Mountain Fire closure, only 8 miles on the actual PCT.
