Up around 6:30, packed and (almost) on the trail by 7am but forgot my phone charging at an outlet at the KOA, so returned to retrieve it. Back on the trail, passming Robodoc, then passed by Rolf before crossing under Hwy 14. Continued through Vasquez Rocks County Park with its unique sandstone outcrops, grassy ridges and sparse juniper trees. Hiked on into Agua Dulce, stopping at Sweetwater Farms (grocery store) for a watermelon which Alpaca and I devoured immediately! Then on to Hiker Heaven (aka The Saufleys) which was heaven indeed! Early Girl and Water Boy (from Seattle) greeted us and gave us the tour. Grabbed some loaner clothes, picked up my resupply box, dropped off laundry, and settled into my camper home for the night. Showered then borrowed a loaner bike and headed back to town for a Margarita and a couple fish tacos at the Mexican restaurant. Bought some resupplies at the store before biking back to the Saufleys. Alpaca invited her family to come join us for dinner (they lived only 30 miles away). Back to the Mexican restaurant for dinner with the entire trail gang (Jack-a-lope, Whiskers, Baby Eagle, etc). Back to the Saufley's and to bed. Nero today; only 10 miles.
