Breakfast in Yosemite Valley before getting a hitch up to Cathedral Lakes trailhead. (Thanks Jeff and Amelia!) Hiked up to the Tuolumne Meadows store for a quick lunch before continuing up the PCT. Passed lots of day hikers on the way to Glen Aulin. Took an inadvertent detour after the Virginia Creek ford and camped near Summit Pass. Twenty two miles today.

An incredibly scenic hike this morning in Yosemite, down Lyell Canyon and into Tuolumne Meadows. Post office at Tuolumne wasn't open for the season so had to hitch (50 miles) down to Yosemite Valley (Thanks Steve!) to pick up my resupply box. Enjoyed a hot dog with Steve then to the PO to pick up my box. Took the Valley Shuttle to Housekeeping Camp for a shower and laundry then to Backpackers Camp for the night.

Up the San Joaquin River Trail and back to the PCT. Passed Thousand Island Lake, over Island Pass and Donahue Pass and entered Yosemite National Park.

Hitched back to Horseshoe Lake Trailhead in the Inyo National Forest this morning. Over Mammoth Pass, down to Red's Meadow, through Devil's Postpile National Monument and back into Ansel Adams Wilderness. Took a beautiful (parallel) side trail and camped beside the San Joaquin River.

Over Goodale Pass and back to the PCT at mile 886. Passed mile 900 today and onto side trail to Horseshoe Lake Trail.
